Almost 10 Weeks

It will be 10 weeks on Tuesday and I feel great. The morning sickness is gone for the most part. I still find myself hungry all of the time. Andrew is worried that he'll gain as much weight as I will during the pregnancy. I need to stop being a bad influence encouraging more desserts than usual.

Today's weight = 116 lbs.

New Pants at 9 Weeks, 2 Days?

I had a difficult time buttoning my pants this morning. I think it's a little early to shop for maternity clothes. I have a wide range of sizes in my closet from 2-10 for my figure that has fluctuated since college. Unfortunately, the majority of my nice, teaching clothes are in the 2-4 range. Ugh.

Almost 9 Weeks

I began feeling much better this week. I still get morning sickness from time to time, but it isn't constant. My grandmother, Marge, passed away yesterday and part of me really wanted to tell people that Baby Garrett is on the way to lift their spirits, but we've decided to wait. We also sold my car yesterday. Were going to see how long we can manage with just one car, then look for a family car. Not a mini-van, but maybe a hybrid or SUV. We'll see.

Today's weight = 118 lbs.

Relief from Morning Sickness

I may be speaking to soon, but it appears that my constant nausea has subsided. Whether it is a temporary change or not, it is welcomed. I haven't felt sick since Sunday morning! Yay!

Almost 8 Weeks

I felt sick all last week. I thought it was going to let up on Friday, but I was mistaken. It will be nice when we tell people so I don't have to pretend to feel well. Our plan is to tell everyone on Brian, Andrew's dad's, birthday, September 3rd. We think it will make a wonderful birthday present. My weight doesn't appear to be changing, but I feel pretty bloated and I know I'm eating a lot more than I normally do.

Today's weight = 117 lbs.

Almost 7 Weeks

The only thing to change in the last week is that the nausea is pretty constant. It has been difficult to act like everything is normal at work when I'm afraid I'm going to pass out or vomit. I've found that the only way to relieve the "morning" sickness is to eat. I hope that doesn't come back to haunt me.

Today's weight = 117 lbs.

First Ultrasound

Andrew and I just returned from our first prenatal visit where we saw our first ultrasound of the baby. We could even see and hear the heart beat. It was so cool. Here is the almost indiscernible ultrasound image. You'll have to take my word for it that it's actually a baby in there. I have to admit, I was hoping for two though. Maybe next time. It was estimated to be at 6 weeks 2 days making the due date March 31, 2009! I hope it's born on Grannie's birthday.

Morning (All-the-Time) Sickness

Ever since Sunday, I have pretty much felt continuous nausea. That's a slight exaggeration. Every couple of hours I get a feeling of normalcy, but then I'm hungry which leads to nausea. Even before getting pregnant I normally eat every 3 hours. Now I'm hungry every 2 hours. On top of that I'm always thirsty. I wonder how long this will last.

Roughly 6 Weeks Along

We're guessing I'm at 6 weeks right now. We'll have a better idea after my prenatal appointment on Thursday. The only symptoms I'm experiencing are that I feel hungry and thirsty more often than normal. I usually just feel nauseous around dinner, but today, I felt kind of yucky all day. Hopefully that will get better.

Today's weight = 117.5 lbs.
