6 Months Photo Shoot

Claire took some beautiful pictures last Saturday. I don't know that I actually have the right to post them, but I am giving credit to Sears. Here are just two photos that I couldn't help but to share. I love the expression on her face in both photos. I hope she doesn't hate me for the second shot.

6 Months Old!

Wow, six months. Claire has developed so much personality this past month. We love it! We've nicknamed her "Curious Claire" because she is always looking around and touching objects around her. She is sitting up very well on her own and has brought some regular naps into her daily schedule. She still sleeps 10-11 hours at night and will fit in a 45 min. nap in the morning and an hour or so in the afternoon. She chuckles when she sees funny faces or hears funny noises. We're still experimenting with expanding her foods and we've also given the sippy cup a try. She doesn't quite understand it. She'll hold on with both hands, stick it in her mouth, but I don't believe she has incorporated the sucking reflex yet. She started a little army crawl last week which we think will turn into a real crawl soon. She did well at her six month check-up. She weighs 15 lbs. 4 oz. and is 26 and 3/4 inches long. We have an appointment for her six month photos on Saturday. We can't wait to see them.

New Foods

Claire tried green beans last night, but it was not successful. We tried again twice today and she wasn't fooled. We mixed some into her rice cereal and it wasn't enough for her to notice. I think we'll try a few more times before we give up on it. In the photo above, Claire sneezed while Andrew was bringing the rice cereal spoon to her mouth. In the bottom photo, you can see most of the green beans on her bib. Both photos were taken in her new high chair which came in last week. She's still adjusting to it.

First Trip to Minnesota!

Andrew, Claire and I traveled to Minneapolis/St. Paul this weekend for our friends, Chrissy and Damon's wedding. Chrissy was my wonderful roommate our junior year at Macalester and is still one of my best friends. We stayed with my brother, Todd, and his family who live in St. Paul and had a great time with them. The wedding was beautiful and so much fun thanks to Todd and Liz who watched Claire, so that Andrew and I could have a date night. We also squeezed in a lunch with another awesome friend/roommate from Macalester, Lucy, and a dinner with friends, Becca and Matt. Becca, also a great Mac friend, went to UNC for graduate school as well where she met and married Matt. We became very good friends with them while in Chapel Hill and were excited to see them again. Last Thursday, before leaving, Claire took her first army crawl! Here are some photos from our trip.

Claire's cousin Brendan, shared some of his toys with her. She really liked the stuffed horse. Later, she fell over and pulled the horse on top of her. It looked like she was trampled.

Claire posed for a few photos in the guest room.

Liz took us to Como Park.

Even though Claire was worn out from a long day, she was pretty adorable while meeting Chrissy and Damon for the first time.

Go Seahawks!

Claire has really enjoyed her time home with Daddy since I've been back at work. Our timing has been incredible in that Claire has woken up around 7:45am each morning, so that I can nurse her before going to school. Andrew then feeds her rice cereal around 11am, which holds her over until I come home for lunch and can nurse her again. This week Andrew brought her to my office from 4-5pm on Tuesday and Thursday, so I can watch her while he goes to the gym. My students and colleagues love to visit with her and it gives Andrew some alone time. We're going to make that a routine.

I feel like I'm looking into Baby Andrew's eyes. I love it!

Big Girl!

Since Claire turned 5 months, she has been riding in the stroller like a big girl (meaning without the car seat). She loves it! She usually kicks her feet up on the tray and lounges.
