Really Cruising

Since the day Claire turned 11 months old, she has been pulling up on everything. She loves to stand. She mainly pulls up on the coffee table which is why we have cleared it of our things (remotes, candy dish, pens, etc.) and placed several toys, and a bag of Cheerios on it. Once she pulls up, she giggles, then when she gets tired of it, she cries because she can't figure out how to get back down until today. Just today she took a couple of steps while holding onto the coffee table and has figured out how to get back on her knees. She walks around on her knees often, but I'm thinking she'll be walking around on her feet soon.

Cold Slumber

It's cold, but not too cold to fall asleep on the 7 min. walk from my office to our house.

11 Months Old

Claire is 11 months old today. She has eight teeth now and loves eating all sorts of foods. Goldfish crackers might be her favorite snack, but she'll go for anything cheesy. She is putting everything in her mouth and doesn't appreciate it when you take something out of her mouth.

Claire has slowly worked her way to a one-nap (if we're lucky) schedule. This is partly because she has been sleeping later (sometimes 8:30am), so she doesn't squeeze in a nap before lunch. On days that she does wake up early, she'll take a morning nap, but then decide that she wants to chug on through her afternoon into the evening without one. Those days can be tough.

Claire loves bath time. You have to wear your swim suit to bathe her because she splashes the entire time. She doesn't smile as she slaps the water, but wrinkles her brow like she's concentrating. We're looking forward to bathing her in a big tub at our new house next month.

Staying Warm

This morning we saw Claire walking around on her knees. I guess that's the next step before feet.

The girl loves her puffs, apple juice, yogurt, Cheez-its, swiss cheese and every vegetable or fruit she has tried (except green beans).

Claire catches up on her Chemical and Engineering News magazines from time to time.

We can't walk up the stairs without staring at the fake stained glass window. It's magical.

Standing

Claire pulled up to a standing position for the first time about an hour ago and has done it several times since then.
