Wow! Nine months old. It's difficult for me to believe Paige is the age now that Claire was at her first Christmas. Paige has quite the personality already. She is an incredibly happy baby. She loves to smile and only gets upset when she's tired. When she is tired she'll cover her eyes with her forearm. That's when you know you can lay her in bed without rocking her to sleep and she won't make a sound. She still enjoys her 12 hours of straight sleep at night. I don't know how we got so lucky with sleeping children, but even if that means the teen years will be rough (as I've been told by parents of "vampire" babies that don't sleep), I think it might be worth it.
You can barely see it, but her first tooth broke through her gums a week
ago and it looks like another bottom tooth is breaking through as of
today. She will get on all fours like she's going to crawl, but she
would much rather pull up to standing position. She wants to be a part
of everything going on. The other day Claire was working a puzzle on
the coffee table and Paige would not be happy unless she was standing
against the coffee table holding one of the puzzle pieces. I tried
holding her, lettering her hold other toys, but she would have nothing
less than to be a part of the puzzle play. Paige also loves the water
both at bath time and the pool.
At her nine month check-up this morning, Paige is 27.5 in. long, the same length that Claire was at 9 months, and is 19 lbs. 10 oz. which is three ounces shy of what Claire weighed at one year. She is warming up to puffs, but hasn't tried to many non-pureed foods. We'll be introducing those more and more now as she gets more teeth.
