"Morning" Sickness Cure

Ever since Saturday my strategy for combating morning sickness has been to eat continuously....so about every hour and it is actually working. I have had a little nausea in the afternoons, but nothing like last week. It is so refreshing! This might mean that I end up wearing my maternity clothes sooner, but it will be well worth it. :) At least I won't be eating sweets until Easter, so I'm filling up on good food.

9 Weeks

This ninth week has been rough. All week I have had severe "morning" sickness that would begin around 4pm and steadily get worse until I made myself go to bed at 8pm. I first blamed it on the crab cakes, but now I know it was just going to happen anyway. (I still might take a ~7 month hiatus on crab cakes just in case.) Last night was the first break from the cycle. This week is my spring break, so I'm hoping to get it under control long enough to enjoy the time off.

Weekly weight change = -1.0 lbs.
Total weight change = +2.5 lbs.

Weekend with Cousins

Wesley and Alex have spent the weekend with us. I tried to get a few pictures here and there, but it's so difficult with the moving targets. We played in the backyard in the morning, then walked to the park after naptime. Andrew pulled the three in the wagon and I pushed a double-stroller (just in case two didn't want to ride in the wagon) and walked Molly. It was a lot of fun.

Claire's Typical Daily Menu at Home

Breakfast:
milk
banana
waffle (whole wheat, no syrup)

Lunch:
milk
baby carrots
string cheese
sugar snap peas (which she usually picks the peas out of to eat)
crackers
apple slices (no peal)

Snack:
milk
Cheerios
raisins

Dinner:
milk
peas (usually 2 bowls, sometimes 3 or 4; sometimes substituted by broccoli)
string cheese
chicken patty (cut into strips; sometime substituted with fish sticks)

We're so lucky that she likes fruits and veggies. She also likes to share whatever I'm eating like yogurt, bread, or anything else she finds appealing.

We've been passing around a virus of some sort for the past week, so no photos to post, but I'll work on that for next week.

Maybe This Baby Garrett Doesn't Like Crab Cakes

I had a horrible case of nausea last night. I did have some "morning sickness" in the afternoon. Then, we took a candidate out to dinner at the Boone Tavern where I reluctantly ordered the crab cake, for lack of something better on the menu. (They have a great menu, but nothing sounded appealing at the time.) Then the nausea got much worse. I hovered the commode through the night/morning at 11:30pm, 1:00am, 1:30am, 2:00am, 2:30am, 3:00am, then 4:00am. I was miserable. I stayed in bed until 7:30am, but needed to get up and eat something. Andrew made some oatmeal for me (he is home on spring break) which was really nice. At 8:00am I finally had enough energy to stand up and take a shower. At work now I'm feeling much better, but I'm wondering about the crab cake. Needless to say, I won't be testing this theory again. Claire didn't like Indian food, maybe this Baby Garrett doesn't like crab cakes.
